Band Aid Liposuction
Performed in Atlanta, GA by Dr. John L. LeRoy.
Many people have tiny pockets of excess fat that are difficult to get rid of through traditional means like diet and exercise. When these excess fat pockets may not be large enough to warrant a full liposuction procedure, Band Aid Liposuction can be very beneficial. Dr. John L. LeRoy created the Band Aid Liposuction procedure to serve as a form of “mini” liposuction, similar to his development of the Band Aid “Mini” Facelift. The procedure is less complicated than a traditional liposuction, making for a quicker treatment session and less recovery time.
Band Aid Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia right here in our office. The procedure is designed to target areas of troublesome excess fat in the body, including:
- Abdomen
- Hips
- “Saddlebags”
- Behind the elbows
- Knees
- Under the chin
Like traditional liposuction techniques, Band Aid Liposuction uses a small tube called a cannula to remove the excess fat cells through tiny incisions around the treatment area. Because the procedure is performed in-office using gentle numbing rather than general anesthesia, it requires very minimal downtime. Patients are often able to see the effective results of the procedure immediately after treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions about Band Aid Liposuction
Am I an appropriate candidate for Band Aid Liposuction?
Band Aid Liposuction is designed for the patient who has very small amounts of excess fat (patients who don’t have weight to lose, but still have annoying bulge(s) or a small “pooch” on the lower abdomen). Band Aid Liposuction is not designed for patients that have more moderate or disproportionate amounts of excess fat, because Band Aid procedures are performed in-office with gentle numbing and attempting to remove larger amounts of fat under these conditions could compromise patient comfort and safety.
Traditional, tumescent liposuction and/or tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can provide wonderful body contouring results for patients with larger amounts of unwanted fat on the hips, back (flanks), underarms (axilla), thighs, and other areas of the face and body. While not limited to these areas, the most satisfied Band Aid Liposuction patients typically exhibit tiny areas of fat on their lower abdomen or underneath their chin. To learn if you are an appropriate candidate for Band Aid Liposuction plastic surgery, schedule a consultation with Dr. John LeRoy.
What is Band Aid Liposuction, and how is it different from traditional liposuction?
Similar to Dr. LeRoy’s Band Aid Facelift, Band Aid Liposuction is just a mini version of liposuction for patients who do not need the full procedure. Because Band Aid Liposuction can be performed in office under local anesthesia, recovery time is minimal compared to that of traditional liposuction. Most patients can even drive themselves home after the “mini” procedure.
What areas can be slimmed with Band Aid Liposuction?
Band Aid Liposuction can be performed on areas of the body that store small amounts of excess fat, including: abdomen, hips, saddlebags, arms, knees, back, legs, buttocks and under the chin.
How long does it take to recover from Band Aid Liposuction?
Since Band Aid Liposuction is less invasive than traditional liposuction, patients can expect very minimal downtime. In most cases, patients are back to their daily activities in 1-3 days.
