Skin Treatments
Performed in Atlanta, GA by Dr. John L. LeRoy.
Facial cosmetic surgery procedures like facelift, Band Aid Facelift, necklift, and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) have the ability to take years off of a patient’s appearance. These procedures, for the most part, are designed to strategically eliminate unwanted, sagging skin and tighten the underlying facial muscles to reveal a more youthful appearance. Skin treatments are excellent ways to further enhance your cosmetic surgery results and ensure natural-looking facial rejuvenation.
Dr. John LeRoy’s in-house, licensed esthetician performs chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments to magnify the rejuvenating effects of your cosmetic surgery procedure or eliminate skin surface imperfections on the faces of those patients whose cosmetic conditions do not yet warrant a facial cosmetic surgery procedure. Please read below for further details on the cosmetic skin treatments offered at John LeRoy’s Atlanta plastic surgery practice:
Microdermabrasion: Specialized, adjustable machinery exfoliates excess, dead skin cells from the surface of the face and/or neck to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmented regions and improve skin tone and texture. Dr. LeRoy’s licensed esthetician first analyzes your skin condition(s) and selects an appropriate level of exfoliation. Most microdermabrasion patients compare the treatment to a thorough scrubbing of the skin. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime associated with microdermabrasion; although, some patients do experience some minor flushing immediately after treatment.
Chemical Peels: Dr. LeRoy’s licensed esthetician applies a mild glycolic acid formula to improve the appearance of dry patches, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and acne scarring. Our plant-based glycolic acid peel gently removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells while promoting your body’s ability to produce collagen to yield younger, vibrant looking skin. Most chemical peel patients report slight flushing and skin tightness after treatment that subsides once the skin sheds the targeted outer layer. Discomfort can be minimized by using an appropriate sunscreen and moisturizer for a few days following a chemical peel.
