Nominate your Favorite Charity for a $1,000 Donation
At the office of double board-certified plastic surgeon John LeRoy, MD, we believe in using our talents to give back to others, and while our patients experience this every day when they feel the joy of being confident in their appearance, we’re also passionate about providing other needed services in the Atlanta area. That’s why we started holding our social media charity contests two years ago – to give back to the community we’ve been a part of since 1997. We’re thrilled to be able to continue this tradition in 2016, and our first charity contest of the year will officially begin this Thursday, January 21st.
How can I help to choose the charity who will receive the donation?
During the coming two weeks, you’ll be able to nominate any local non-profit organization through the Dr. John LeRoy Facebook page. When you visit the page between January 21st and February 5th, 2016, you’ll see that the top post on our timeline is inviting you to place your nomination, and to do so, you can simply comment on that post with the name of the charity, as well as 50 words or less explaining why they’ve earned your nomination. After all the nominees have been submitted, we will announce the finalists on Monday, February 8th, and will post a link on our Facebook page where you can vote for a final winner. The winner will be announced on Monday, February 22nd, and will then receive a $1,000 donation.
What are the qualifications for a nomination?
For your nomination to be considered, it needs to meet the following criteria:
- The charity must hold a 501(c)(3) non-profit distinction or be a valid and charitable crowdfunding page.
- The charity must be in Georgia.
- The nominator must be at least 16 years of age.
- Each nominator may only nominate one charity.
- The charity must contribute to a greater good, identifiable through a published mission statement.
- The charity may not be a previous charity contest winner (recent winners include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Atlanta Humane Society, and Atlanta S.E.E.D.s).
While our day-to-day work of helping our patients become their most confident and beautiful selves is fulfilling in itself, our quarterly charity contests give us the opportunity to reach out and touch many more lives, and it is your continued support which has allowed us to continue them. We look forward to many more years of serving the Atlanta community through both charitable contributions and plastic surgery services.
