Announcing the Winner of the Pursue Your Passion Contest
At the beginning of November, we announced we would be holding a special contest for board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. John LeRoy’s Facebook fans to make their passions known by sharing with us their favorite Atlanta charities. In order for fans to enter the contest, they needed to submit the name of their favorite charity, its mission, and why they believed they could benefit from a $1,000 donation from Dr. LeRoy’s office.
Through Dr. LeRoy‘s work in providing beautiful, natural results to patients, he feels fulfilled and compelled to share his passion with others. We are very grateful for the amount of you that entered the contest, demonstrating your passionate hearts by submitting organizations that were so apparently important to your lives. When The Edge Connection was entered into the contest, it immediately caught our eyes because of the passion behind the entry itself. After we continued the contest process and moved onto voting, you all showed that you agreed by choosing The Edge Connection as the winner of The Pursue Your Passion contest with an overwhelming 86% of the votes.
We are proud to announce that The Edge Connection will receive a $1000 donation from Dr. LeRoy. The Edge Connection’s mission is “to promote economic self-sufficiency and self-determination through comprehensive entrepreneurial training targeting low-to-moderate income women and minorities.” According to Diana Adams, the nominator who chose the 501(c)(3) organization, The Edge Connection “teach[es] their entrepreneurs the skills to become self-sufficient and self-sustaining. They encourage them to dream. Then, they help them turn their dreams into reality.” Adams continued, “[The Edge Connection] creates jobs through business development and establishes legacies for individuals, their families and their communities.”
