Meet Our Band Aid Facelift Patient: Julie

sitting-smiling-femaleReceiving feedback from patients that I have previously helped with cosmetic surgery is one of the most helpful and rewarding parts of being a board-certified plastic surgeon. It’s always my goal to be able to help my patients improve the way they look and feel. So when I hear from a patient who is willing to take the time to share their story and the impact that cosmetic surgery has had on their life, I’m always incredibly grateful. In the past, I have been happy to present firsthand plastic surgery testimonials from patients who were kind enough to detail the outstanding experiences they’ve had at my practice. Today, I wanted to focus on one patient more specifically and how Band Aid Facelift surgery impacted her life.

Julie first came to our office interested in refreshing the appearance of her face, but hesitant to undergo traditional plastic surgery. “I was always unsure about plastic surgery after having had many mishaps in my life, and not wanting to look “plastic” or be put to sleep in vain during surgery”. Thankfully, my less invasive Band Aid Facelift technique (performed in my office using gentle numbing) was able to provide Julie with the exact type of cosmetic rejuvenation that she had been looking for.

Keep reading to hear Julie discuss her procedure and experience in her own words:

“Dr. John LeRoy is the most authentic, down-to-earth, stern plastic surgeon I have ever met. I used to laugh when I would listen to advertisements about “the Band Aid Facelift.” Then, my husband and I visited friends in Aspen, Colorado, who are older than us. I noticed at dinner that my friend had the jawline of a 30-year-old. So I asked what her secret was.

She told me about this doctor and how he did a mini facelift on her while she was wide awake. 45 minutes on one side and 45 on the other, I listened intently. That’s how good and natural she looked! Eventually, after a significant amount of prolonged stress, I noticed my face beginning to droop, so I did it; I dove in and swam, and it was amazing!

At first, Dr. LeRoy almost turned me away for refusing to take pain medication post-surgery, but I quickly conceded. He was not out for my money for sure! He knows his stuff and doesn’t care what you say. He performs surgery his way and does it well. He talked to me the entire time, even making me laugh. He and his nurse made me feel comforted through it all. All of his staff are very friendly and unpretentious.

During my post-op visit after an early morning flight, my husband refused to go in with me. I wanted to inquire about a couple of other minor procedures with my lips and extra skin on one eyelid. He quoted, “I don’t want to go in because I would suggest he do nothing more to you, as your surgery is the most natural I have ever seen, with two-hundred percent perfection.”

The only thing I regret about meeting Dr. LeRoy is that I didn’t meet him sooner.”

I’m so happy to hear that Julie is doing so well and is so happy with the results of her surgery. Before I sign off, I just wanted to thank Julie, as well as all of my other incredible patients who have taken the time to leave us a plastic surgery testimonial over the years. Doing so is an amazing service for both me and my medical team, as well as prospective patients who are looking for an experienced and board-certified plastic surgeon they can depend on.
