Meet Our Band Aid Mini Facelift Patient: Diane

thoughtful-femaleOne of the greatest compliments that a plastic surgeon can receive is hearing from a patient who was willing to travel from out of the state to be treated at our practice. My staff and I always do everything in our power to deliver the best and most satisfying plastic surgery experience for all of our patients, but it does mean so much to us to know that someone would go so far out of their way and put this level of faith in the work that we do. sitting-smiling-femaleReceiving feedback from patients that I have previously helped with cosmetic surgery is one of the most helpful and rewarding parts of being a board-certified plastic surgeon. It’s always my goal to be able to help my patients improve the way they look and feel. So when I hear from a patient who is willing to take the time to share their story and the impact that cosmetic surgery has had on their life, I’m always incredibly grateful. In the past, I have been happy to present firsthand plastic surgery testimonials from patients who were kind enough to detail the outstanding experiences they’ve had at my practice. Today, I wanted to focus on one patient more specifically and how Band Aid Facelift surgery impacted her life.

Julie first came to our office interested in refreshing the appearance of her face, but hesitant to undergo traditional plastic surgery. “I was always unsure about plastic surgery after having had many mishaps in my life, and not wanting to look “plastic” or be put to sleep in vain during surgery”. “Dr. John LeRoy is the most authentic, down-to-earth, stern plastic surgeon I have ever met. I used to laugh when I would listen to advertisements about “the Band Aid Facelift.” Then, my husband and I visited friends in Aspen, Colorado, who are older than us. I noticed at dinner that my friend had the jawline of a 30-year-old. So I asked what her secret was.

She told me about this doctor and how he did a mini facelift on her while she was wide awake. 45 minutes on one side and 45 on the other, I listened intently. That’s how good and natural she looked! Eventually, after a significant amount of prolonged stress, I noticed my face beginning to droop, so I did it; I dove in and swam, and it was amazing!

At first, Dr. LeRoy almost turned me away for refusing to take pain medication post-surgery, but I quickly conceded. He was not out for my money for sure! What Type of Facelift Surgery is Right For Me?

So, you’ve decided that you want to undergo facelift surgery. That’s a good start, but for prospective facelift patients, this is only the beginning of a series of critically important decisions that will need to be made in order to ensure the best-possible facelift experience and results. Many people do not know that there are different facelift methods that each provide their own unique benefits, depending on the patients. Today, I thought it would be helpful to discuss traditional facelift surgery, as well as my signature Band Aid Mini Facelift, to help patients who are curious gain a better understanding of which technique might be best for them.

Facelift surgery is performed to help patients undo common effects of aging, as well as years of sun exposure that can lead to loose, sagging skin in the face and neck areas. During the procedure, I am able to remove excess skin (and fat as needed) and tighten the remaining tissue in the area. The result is a lifted, natural-looking appearance without any previous wrinkles and droopiness.

My Band Aid Mini Facelift provides people interested in facelift surgery with a proven, less invasive alternative. What makes this version of the facelift unique is my signature technique performed in my office, using gentle numbing instead of general anesthesia, which can also help patients save on potential hospital fees. Answering Your Questions About the Band Aid Mini Facelift

But that doesn’t mean the facelift of decades ago hasn’t experienced some interesting and beneficial changes. Today, facelift patients have more options than ever before including less invasive and lower cost alternatives like my signature Band Aid Mini Facelift. Today I am happy to answer a few commonly asked questions about this procedure and the fantastic benefits that it can provide my patients.

What Kind of Anesthesia is Used During a Band Aid Mini Facelift?

One of the things that my patients are so relieved about in regards to this procedure is that it is performed in-office using a gentle numbing solution. That means that general anesthesia will not be required. And despite this, the procedure has little to no discomfort and post-surgery soreness and swelling is fairly minimal following a Band Aid Mini Facelift.

What Other Procedures Can Be Combined With a Band Aid Mini Facelift?

Like traditional facelift surgery, the Band Aid Mini Facelift is often combined with other cosmetic procedures to help my patients achieve more comprehensive aesthetic results. Commonly paired procedures include Band Aid Eyelid Surgery or cosmetic facial injections that can help rejuvenate the upper portion of the face.

Does Undergoing a Band Aid Mini Facelift Mean No Recovery Time?

No. The concept of plastic surgery without any downtime to recover is impossible. However, due to its smaller incisions and less invasive nature, the recovery period following a Band Aid Mini Facelift is shorter and easier than that of the traditional version of the procedure. We will discuss the specifics of the recovery period in more detail during the pre-surgery consultation appointment.
