You Can Win $1,000 for a Local Charity
At the office of plastic surgeon John L. LeRoy, M.D., F.A.C.S., P.C., we believe in being a contributing member of our community. We feel fortunate to be able to spend every day doing the work we’re passionate about – helping patients to be their most confident and beautiful selves. To spread the joy that our patients give us, each year we hold several social media charity contests, when we invite our patients and supporters to visit our Facebook page to help us find a local charity to whom we will present a $1,000 donation. We’ve been accepting nominations over the past several weeks, and now we need your help to choose a winner among the three finalists.
Here’s how you can vote:
- Go to the John LeRoy Facebook page and click “Like,” if you haven’t already.
- Find the post that is pinned to the top of our timeline—it should be the first post you see, inviting you to vote in the charity contest. Click on the link in the post to cast your vote.
- Be sure to vote for your favorite charity before the deadline Monday, July 20th, 2015. Then, keep an eye out for our announcement on Tuesday, July 21st to see which charity won.
Who are the finalists?
- Our Lady of Perpetual Help Hospice – For terminal cancer patients, every day is precious. But in order to meet their medical needs and to make their days as comfortable as possible, they require consistent nursing care, which is an expense that many cannot afford. For these patients, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Hospice serves as a facility that can give terminal cancer patients the care they could not afford elsewhere. The organization does not accept any payment from patients or their families, relieving the financial burden during their time of hardship.
- TJ and Friends Foundation – In 2008, TJ Johnson was facing a cancer diagnosis. To ease the financial strain of medical costs, his friends organized an escorted motorcycle ride to raise money for TJ’s cause. In TJ’s memory, his friends have continued their quest to provide financial relief to cancer patients in northeast Georgia. While researchers fight to find better treatment and a cure for the disease, the TJ and Friends Foundation helps local cancer patients with their day-to-day financial struggles through fundraising events like softball tournaments, horse shows, bass tournaments, auctions, and more.
- Atlanta Humane Society – As the oldest charitable organization in Atlanta, the Atlanta Humane Society has become a leader in ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in our community. The organization takes a multi-faceted approach, combining educational programs with veterinary care and adoption centers that never place “time limits” on the amount of time animals can remain in their care.
We truly value being a part of and giving back to our community, and we would be honored to have your help in choosing which local charity will receive $1,000 to continue their important work. To cast your vote, visit our Facebook page and follow the steps above. Or, to learn more about us and the procedures and services we offer, explore our website or call us to schedule a consultation.
