It’s that time of year again—no, not the time for colorful leaves and pumpkin spice everything, but time for our fall social media charity contest. At the plastic surgery office of Dr. John L. LeRoy, we’re grateful to be a part of the Atlanta community and to have received so much support throughout our more than twenty years in practice. To pay it forward, each season we hold a charity contest and enlist your help to choose a deserving, local non-profit organization who can make good use of our $1,000 donation, and it’s that time once again when we invite you to participate.

How does the charity contest work?

Our Facebook page, where we post daily about our current specials, helpful tips, and important information, is charity contest central. Until Friday, October 16^th, we’ll have a post pinned to the top of our page inviting you to nominate a deserving local charity. Then, on Monday, October 19^th, we’ll announce the finalists and post a poll where you can vote for the winning charity. The organization with the highest number of votes will receive a donation for $1,000 to continue the valuable work they do in the Atlanta community.

How can I get involved?

To nominate your favorite local charity, visit the Dr. John LeRoy Facebook page and find the post that is pinned to the top of our timeline, with the headline, “Nominate a Local Charity for a $1,000 Donation.” Simply comment on this post with the name of the charity, as well as 50 words or less explaining why they’ve earned your nomination.

When can I submit my nomination and vote?

Below are the deadlines for each phase of the charity contest:

• Nominations will be accepted until Friday, October 16^th, 2015.
• We will announce the finalists and post the voting poll on Monday, October 19^th, 2015.
• You’ll be able to cast your vote for the winning charity between Monday, October 19^th and Friday, October 30^th, 2015.
• The winning organization will be announced on Monday, November 2^nd, 2015.

What kinds of charities can I nominate?

In order to be accepted, each nomination must meet the following criteria:

• The charity must hold a 501(c)(3) non-profit distinction or be a valid and charitable crowdfunding page. {Dr. LeRoy, Beth will talk to you about this}
• The charity must be in Georgia.
• The nominator must be at least 16 years of age. {Dr. LeRoy, Beth will talk to you about this}
• Each nominator may only nominate one charity.
• The charity must contribute to a greater good, identifiable through a published mission statement.
• The charity may not be a previous charity contest winner.
