The article’s contributors attribute the surge in cosmetic surgery interest to the ever-expanding population of the country and the somewhat stagnant amount of desirable job openings (a ripple effect of the economic crunch felt round the world over the past year.) Indian teenage women are seeking cosmetic procedures such as: liposuction of a double chin, surgery of the nose (rhinoplasty), and lip enlargement through dermal injections (Restylane® and Juvederm®.) Young Indian men are not immune from the new trend; seeking male breast reduction (gynecomastia) most frequently.
