Give 2016 a Beautiful Start with Our January Specials
The new year is a perfect opportunity to hit pause and assess what we want from our lives and how much progress we’ve made toward our goals. For my plastic surgery patients, one of their goals is to feel more confident in their appearance and less burdened by self-consciousness. If you want to head into 2016 feeling happier with your look, my January specials may be able to help you achieve the results you’re looking for.
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing
Many of my patients have already heard that laser treatments can rejuvenate the skin, but during my Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing procedure, this effect is achieved with less downtime and a more natural-looking result than more traditional laser resurfacing. By sending the laser light into the skin in a pattern of tiny dots, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing is able to boost your body’s collagen production and minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and other imperfections while leaving the areas of skin between the dots untouched. This leads to an overall younger look and less downtime than traditional laser resurfacing procedures.
Band Aid Skin Tightening
Sagging facial skin doesn’t happen overnight; it develops slowly over the years. If you have enough skin laxity to make you self-conscious but not enough to need a facelift or a Band Aid Facelift, my Band Aid Skin Tightening may be the ideal choice. The procedure uses controlled warmth to help your skin rebuild firming collagen, allowing your skin to gradually look younger with no incisions, needles, or lasers.
Latisse® Eyelash Enhancement
For those whose cosmetic struggles have less to do with aging and more with inadequate lashes, Latisse® eyelash enhancement may be a surprisingly simple solution. While it must be prescribed by a select few types of medical professionals such as a board-certified plastic surgeon like me, Latisse® is a topical medication you can apply in your own home on a nightly basis. By adjusting your lashes’ growth cycles, the treatment causes them to become longer, fuller, and darker.
The start of a new year is an exciting time when we look at the coming months and consider all the possibilities they hold, but as I’ve seen first-hand, self-consciousness can quickly put a damper on optimism. I look forward to another great year of helping you become your most confident and beautiful self. Happy New Year!
October Specials for a Younger-Looking You
For most Atlantans, the name Dr. John LeRoy makes them think of the Band Aid Facelift—the minimally invasive procedure he created to make a significant but natural-looking impact on facial aging with less recovery time, less scarring, and only gentle numbing. However, at Dr. LeRoy’s plastic surgery office, we also understand that each patient is unique and that cosmetic surgery isn’t the right solution for everyone. Whether you’re not yet ready for a Band Aid Facelift or your goal is to maintain the results of an earlier facelift, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to save on some of the most popular non-surgical procedures we offer for facial rejuvenation.
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing uses tiny columns of laser light to help your body produce more collagen (which makes your skin stronger, firmer, and more youthful) while leaving untouched skin between these microscopic “treatment zones” so you can get back to your daily activities in no time. This procedure can be ideal for patients who want to address a number of skin concerns at once, like wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars.
Band Aid Skin Tightening
For patients whose primary concern is sagging skin, Band Aid Skin Tightening may be the way to go. During this procedure, the Protégé system sends targeted heat energy into the deeper layers of the skin, helping the skin to rebuild the collagen that has been lost as a result of aging, sun exposure, and other factors. Band Aid Skin Tightening doesn’t require any downtime, and to get the best possible results, most patients should receive a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart.
Ultimately, choosing a facial rejuvenation procedure (whether it’s non-surgical or a more comprehensive plastic surgery) is a personal decision which should be based on your individual goals and needs. With over 20 years of experience as a double board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. LeRoy can provide specialized treatment whether you choose Botox® injections, a Band Aid plastic surgery, or a more extensive surgical procedure. To start discussing your cosmetic options, schedule a consultation with Dr. John LeRoy. Or, to stay up-to-date on the latest plastic surgery news, follow Dr. LeRoy on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
Repair Your Summer Sun Damage with August Specials
Summer is beginning to draw to a close, as are the fun days spent lounging on the beach, hiking through the mountains, or enjoying another summer excursion. But as much as we all love spending time outdoors, most people are not as vigilant about sun protection as they should be. Besides the risks sun exposure can pose to our health, it can also significantly accelerate the aging process. While skin damage can’t be undone, there are several ways to address the signs of premature aging and to get you back to looking like a younger you, and our August specials can help.
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing
During this non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedure, tiny columns of laser light are used to stimulate your natural growth of collagen—the protein that gives the skin youthful firmness and elasticity. The increased collagen can minimize fine lines and wrinkles throughout the treatment area. When acne scars or other facial scarring is treated with Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing, the laser breaks up the scar tissue and allows the refreshed collagen to give the scar a smoother, less noticeable appearance. As an added bonus, the laser treatment can break up the pigments in age spots, resulting in a more even, younger complexion.
Band Aid Skin Tightening
For patients who prefer to focus on lax or wrinkled facial skin, rather than on age spots and acne scars, Band Aid Skin Tightening is a non-surgical way to make the skin firmer. Like laser treatments, this procedure causes the skin to develop more collagen, but it uses a different method. Band Aid Skin Tightening uses the Protégé system to send targeted warmth into the deeper layers of the skin. Because the collagen continues to develop long after the treatment has ended, results progressively improve for as long as three to six months after the treatment plan is complete.
While many patients find success with these and other non-surgical procedures (like microdermabrasion, cosmetic facial injectables, and chemical peels), those who are looking for a more significant change in their appearance are often a better fit for a minimally-invasive cosmetic surgery, like the Band Aid Facelift, or for a more comprehensive procedure like the traditional facelift. To start discussing your aesthetic goals and choosing the best treatment plan for your needs, schedule a consultation with me, Dr. John LeRoy, and join us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to stay up-to-date with the latest news in plastic surgery.
Ask Dr. LeRoy: Is Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing or Band Aid Skin Tightening the Better Option for Me?
Throughout my 23 years as a double board-certified plastic surgeon, I’ve seen more and more patients who want to take a different approach to their aging appearance—rather than being unhappy with the signs of aging they see in the mirror until it comes time for a traditional plastic surgery, they choose to address signs of aging as they arise so that they can continue to look their best throughout the years. The good news is that modern medicine allows me to offer numerous options for minimally-invasive facial rejuvenation procedures; the bad news is that this leaves many patients confused and unsure about which option is right for them. To offer some guidance, I’ve broken down two popular non-surgical treatments, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing and Band Aid Skin Tightening (both of which have special pricing this month), into some simple questions to help patients understand which procedure may be the best fit for their needs.
What are your aesthetic goals?
In general terms, both Band Aid Skin Tightening and Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing address signs of aging. However, they approach this goal in two different ways. For patients who want to minimize wrinkles as well as age spots, acne scars, and other pigmentation concerns, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing can improve all of these issues at once. Band Aid Skin Tightening, on the other hand, focuses solely on the firmness and texture of the skin and does not affect the surface skin, so this treatment is a better option for patients who are more concerned about lax skin and wrinkles than skin spots.
How much downtime does your schedule allow for cosmetic procedures?
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing and Band Aid Skin Tightening are both non-surgical procedures, so they both require less recovery time than even minimally-invasive surgeries like the Band Aid Facelift. However, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing does use tiny columns of laser light to perforate the skin and activate the body’s natural healing process, so a minimal amount of recovery time is usually needed. Band Aid Skin Tightening, on the other hand, typically requires no downtime because the procedure uses precisely controlled heat energy that targets the deeper layers of the skin, so most patients can go right back to their daily activity after their treatment is finished.
Can you fit multiple treatments into your schedule, or do you need to limit your procedure to one session?
Band Aid Skin Tightening increases the skin’s collagen production in a particularly gentle, gradual way, making it a comfortable treatment for patients. As a result, patients generally see optimal results after a series of five strategically-timed sessions. While the results of Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing also develop gradually as the new collagen continues to form, the full results are achieved with one treatment.
While asking yourself these questions can help you narrow down your options, it’s important to recognize that finding the right procedure is essential to achieving the results you’re looking for, and that this decision should be made as a combined effort between yourself and your plastic surgeon. Call my office to schedule a consultation when we can discuss your aesthetic options and your medical needs.
