How will my neck lift procedure work?

This procedure may be performed under anesthesia or in-office with gentle numbing depending on the magnitude of the surgery. A few discrete incisions are made before liposuction is used to smooth and tighten skin along the jowls and chin. Depending on the level of sagging you have, excess skin can be eliminated and underlying neck (platysma) muscles can be tightened. After tissue and skin are repositioned and secured, incisions are closed and thoroughly bandaged for proper healing.

Any discomfort associated with swelling and bruising during recovery can be alleviated with medication. Depending on the extent of your procedure, most patients return to normal daily routines within one to two weeks after facial rejuvenation treatment. A compression garment will be required for a few days following the procedure to facilitate the healing process and stabilization of the neck.
