Facelifts are among the most popular and well-known plastic surgeries. In fact, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, over 234,000 facelifts were performed in the US in 2020. A traditional facelift, though, has its downsides, like a long recovery period and the need for general anesthesia. That’s why my signature Band Aid Mini Facelift has become so beloved by my patients in Atlanta and beyond.
What is it that makes the Band Aid Mini Facelift so unique? There are several important differences I explain to every patient.
Gradual Approach
As a whole, I designed my Band Aid Mini Facelift to take a different approach than traditional facelifts. This surgery is focused on making natural-looking improvements to your appearance at shorter intervals compared to a traditional facelift.
For example, with a traditional facelift, you might have the surgery and then let aging take its course. After 15-20 years have passed, you have another facelift to repair 15-20 years of aging in one procedure. With a Band Aid Mini Facelift, on the other hand, I cut that in half. About every ten years or so, I give you a rejuvenating result that makes a noticeable difference yet one that is discreet enough to make sure you still look like you. This way, the focus is more on maintaining a more youthful look.
Minimally Invasive Techniques
The Band Aid Mini Facelift is meant to be a way to achieve the rejuvenating results you want without the extended recovery time of a traditional facelift. To do this, I use specialized minimally invasive techniques and incisions that are as small as possible. These minimally invasive techniques keep your bruising, swelling, and recovery time to a minimum.
Gentle Numbing
Like most plastic surgeries, a traditional facelift typically requires general anesthesia. Because my Band Aid Mini Facelift is minimally invasive, though, I am able to use gentle numbing instead. This reduces the cost of your procedure while also allowing you to be comfortable and awake throughout the procedure. For patients who are nervous about the potential risks of general anesthesia, the use of gentle numbing can ease your anxieties so you can still achieve the aesthetic results you want.
Reduced Recovery Time
One of the aspects of my Band Aid Mini Facelift that my patients appreciate most is the significantly reduced recovery time. After a traditional facelift, it may take about two weeks before you have recovered enough to go back to work or resume your other daily activities, and you’ll need to wait longer before getting back to strenuous exercise. A Band Aid Mini Facelift, on the other hand, typically cuts the recovery time in half.
If you’re looking for a way to restore your confidence in your appearance and enjoy a more youthful look, my Band Aid Mini Facelift may be the ideal option. To find out if it’s the right choice for you, schedule a mini facelift consultation at my Atlanta office today. Follow me on Facebook as well for more cosmetic surgery insights.
The decision to have plastic surgery isn’t one that people make on a whim. Most patients have thought about their surgery for months or even years, weighing the pros and cons before they decide to make that commitment and move forward. Of the “cons” patients consider, the most prominent one is usually the risks of having surgery.
As a double board-certified plastic surgeon, it is my aim to educate my patients about everything they need to know about their surgery, including the risks and limitations. While this will vary from patient to patient, I’m dedicating this blog to answering your questions and concerns about liposuction safety.
Truthfully, there are always risks that come with any type of surgery, whether it is cosmetic or medically necessary. However, serious complications are rare with liposuction surgery, so the safety rate is high for this procedure.
Before your surgery, you’ll have a one-on-one consultation with your plastic surgeon. During this consultation, you’ll discuss the results and the surgical and recovery experience you can expect, as well as the risks. I also require certain medical testing and documentation for every patient before their surgery so we can identify any added risk factors in advance.
As rare as serious complications are, it’s important to take steps to make your liposuction surgery as safe as possible. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to protect your health before surgery.
Choose a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
It’s important to realize that not every provider that offers cosmetic surgery is actually board-certified in plastic surgery. Some providers may be board-certified in other specialties, such as cosmetic surgery, which is not an AMA-recognized board. Surgeons board-certified in other areas of medicine don’t have the in-depth training and tested knowledge of a board-certified plastic surgeon. I am proud to provide my patient with the added comfort of knowing that I am double board-certified – certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and in general surgery by the American College of Surgeons.
Consider a Minimally Invasive Option
While every liposuction procedure is tailored to the patient, there are some types of liposuction that are particularly different from the norm – mini liposuction surgeries. A mini liposuction surgery can vary, but these procedures typically use minimally invasive methods and smaller incisions to treat smaller, more localized pockets of unwanted fat.
In my case, I offer a unique variation: my signature Band Aid Liposuction. Not only is this surgery minimally invasive but it uses gentle numbing rather than general anesthesia. This goes a long way toward minimizing the surgical risks while also making the procedure more cost-effective and reducing the recovery time.
Select a Surgeon with Plenty of Liposuction Experience
Many plastic surgeons have certain specialties that become their primary focus. For example, some surgeons almost exclusively perform breast augmentations. Other surgeons have more variety in their cases.
It’s important that for liposuction, you choose a plastic surgeon who performs liposuction on a regular basis. They don’t need to specialize exclusively in liposuction, but if they rarely perform this procedure, their skills won’t be as sharp as someone who does perform it often. For example, they may not have the expertise to ensure that your skin is firm after your surgery.
If you have an area of fat that has been resistant to diet and exercise and you’re looking for a controlled way to sculpt it into the shape you want, liposuction could be a perfect choice. With the safety tips above, you can protect your health while also getting the cosmetic results you want. My signature Band Aid Mini Facelift has given thousands of patients the ability to once again feel confident in their youthful appearance. Every cosmetic surgery has its specific purposes, and that includes the Band Aid Mini Facelift. For many patients, this procedure provides all the facial rejuvenation they want, but others have a wider array of cosmetic goals. That’s why the best way to get your ideal results may be to pair the Band Aid Mini Facelift with one or more other treatments.
What are those treatments that complement and enhance the results of a Band Aid Mini Facelift? It all depends on your unique aging and your goals, but there are certain procedures that are especially popular among my Band Aid Mini Facelift patients.
Cosmetic Facial Injections
Cosmetic facial injections like Botox®, Dysport®, Restylane®, Juvéderm®, and Radiesse® are long-beloved treatments for a younger look. They address fine lines and wrinkles as well as thinning or hollowing areas like the cheeks or lips for a natural-looking, rested, and youthful appearance.
There’s a common misconception that a facelift or mini facelift will remove all wrinkles. The truth is that a Band Aid Mini Facelift and other types of facelifts are designed to rejuvenate the shape of your skin and facial tissue. Removing every wrinkle and line with a facelift is not only impractical but would lead to an overly stretched and unnatural look.
For comprehensive and appealing facial rejuvenation, many of my patients choose to have a Band Aid Mini Facelift to provide a more youthful facial structure, then add cosmetic facial injections to fine-tune their results and reduce their remaining fine lines and wrinkles.
Band Aid Eyelid Surgery
The area around the eyes is a frequent “problem area” for aging. Many people develop sagging skin above their upper eyelids, giving their eyes a “hooded” appearance. Bags under the eyes are common as well because of aging skin and the movement of pads of fat under the eyes.
A Band Aid Mini Facelift primarily focuses on the lower two-thirds of your face, but if you want to rejuvenate your lower face along with your eyes, pairing a Band Aid Mini Facelift with my Band Aid Eyelid Surgery may be the ideal combination. Both of these procedures are minimally invasive and performed in my office using gentle numbing, resulting in far less recovery time. In fact, I can often combine a Band Aid Mini Facelift and Band Aid Eyelid Surgery, performing both of them in the same surgery so you get more comprehensive results with just one procedure and one recovery period.
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser treatments are popular today for addressing a long list of cosmetic concerns, and Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing is one of the most effective options. It can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, scars, and more. This treatment is performed in a uniquely minimally invasive way using a DOT Therapy™ fractionated laser, so as effective as it is in reducing facial aging, it does it with less recovery time needed.
Like cosmetic facial injections, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing can rebuild youthful collagen and treat some of the surface-level lines and wrinkles that a Band Aid Mini Facelift doesn’t treat. However, this laser treatment can reduce age spots as well and after you have healed from your Band Aid Mini Facelift, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing can even reduce the already minimal and discreet scars from your surgery.
Band Aid Micro Mini Facelift
My Band Aid Micro Mini Facelift is a lighter version of my Band Aid Mini Facelift, and it’s designed for the patient who wants to maintain their surgical results as closely as possible. This minimally invasive procedure is designed for patients who had a facelift or Band Aid Mini Facelift about two to four years ago and want to address the new aging that has appeared in the years since their surgery.
As you consider treatments to enhance your Band Aid Mini Facelift, it’s important to note that you will give yourself a distinct advantage by getting all of these procedures from the same board-certified plastic surgery. I take the time to help my patients create a customized plan for getting the results they want, including timing each procedure so it’s aligned with their healing from their other treatments.

A facelift or a Band Aid Mini Facelift can be a fantastic way for someone to reduce troublesome signs of aging and restore their confidence in their appearance. If you have a friend or family member who is planning to have a facelift or mini facelift, you want their recovery to be as easy and seamless as possible. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to make that happen.
As a double board-certified plastic surgeon who has specialized in mini facelifts for 25 years, I have helped thousands of patients plan for a smooth recovery time. Follow these tips to make your loved one’s healing period easier.
Spend the First Night
When a patient has plastic surgery, the first night is often a difficult time to navigate. They will need a ride home from their surgery, but it’s also important that they have someone at home that night to help them get around the house as needed.
If your loved one lives alone, you can help by offering to spend the first night with them. This is a great time to get them set up for a smoother facelift recovery as well. For example, you can make a schedule for them of when to take specific medications and when and how to care for their incisions.
Offer to Run Errands
I always advise my patients to plan ahead by listing all the groceries, toiletries, and other supplies they’ll need for their recovery time and picking them up before their surgery. This is easier for patients receiving my Band Aid Mini Facelift because the recovery time is half as long as it is after a traditional facelift. However, there may be items they forget or other needs that come up later.
You can help by staying in touch with your loved one while they heal, asking if there is anything they might need, and offering to run any necessary errands. It’s especially important that they take it easy in their first days after surgery, but many patients prefer to stay home for longer until much of their swelling and bruising is gone.
Care for Their Kids and/or Pets
In the days after surgery, patients need to be careful about their level of activity. They shouldn’t exert themselves too much, and facelift patients in particular need to avoid bending down too far. This makes it difficult for them to care for anyone else, like kids or pets.
Caring for kids is especially challenging because it can take so much energy and activity. Even caring for a pet can be too much, though, like taking the dog for a walk and bending down to feed the pets or clean up after them. You can help your loved one by offering to care for their kids or pets for part of their facelift recovery, especially if they don’t have a partner or other adult at home to help.
Provide Emotional Support
Helping your loved one recover from a facelift or mini facelift isn’t only about their physical and practical needs. The post-surgery healing period can also be an emotional time. The discomfort of healing and even some post-surgery medications can affect a person’s emotions, and a lack of sleep during the recovery period can contribute too.
As a friend or family member, make sure your loved one knows that you’re there for them. Let them know that you’re available to listen if they need you and be sure to help them stay positive.
Helping Your Loved One After Facial Rejuvenation Surgery
If your friend or family member is planning for a facelift or Band Aid Mini Facelift, you’re probably excited for them and the new confidence they will enjoy after their surgery. In the meantime, though, you can help and support them by being a trusted team member during their recovery.
If you’re considering a facelift of your own, call my plastic surgery office today to schedule a consultation. Be sure to follow me on Facebook for more cosmetic surgery tips.
