The main purpose of my signature Band Aid Mini Facelift is to minimize the appearance of aging and to give the face a more youthful look. Because of this, one of the most frequent questions I hear from patients is just how much younger should they expect to look. My short answer is that they will look between eight to ten years younger, however, my long answer is a bit more detailed.
It’s important to note that the Band Aid Mini Facelift is a cosmetic procedure and not a reconstructive, plastic surgery. Because of this, patients should expect that the signs of aging will be reduced, but the overall way that the patient looks will stay the same. In other words, you should expect to look like a younger version of yourself.
Check out the video below to learn in more detail about how much younger the Band Aid Mini Facelift can help you look.

Some of the most common questions asked by those looking to undergo a traditional facelift procedure revolve around the recovery process. Patients typically want to know how long the process is and what it specifically looks like. However, the answers to these questions vary from person to person and depend on factors such as your body’s natural healing process, your pre-surgery health status, how well you follow your surgeon’s instructions and more. To help make the process a bit more clear for patients, I’ve outlined some general information on what most people should expect during their facelift recovery period.
Week One
The first week after surgery is typically when your body experiences varying levels of sensitivity and soreness. Most patients are unable to return to day-to-day activities during this period and it is recommended that you let your body rest.
Immediately after your facelift procedure, you may be drowsy and should plan to have someone pick you up, drive you home and be available to help take care of you. Make sure to review all post-op instructions ahead of time to ensure you are prepared and don’t have any questions. You should also have prescription pain medication on hand for any discomfort you may experience. By the end of the week, most patients no longer need pain medication, start to see swelling reduce and feel comfortable moving around to do small tasks.
Week Two
During the second week after surgery, chances are that you will still be experiencing slight swelling and bruising around your incisions. Patients may also feel some numbing, tingling or tightening sensations around their face or neck. All these symptoms are normal, expected and not a cause for concern. Additionally, your sutures will usually be removed within or after two weeks.
At the end of the second week, most people feel ready to return to work, are more comfortable walking around and can start doing light activities again such as walking. However, if you’ve noticed no improvement in your condition after 14 days, you should schedule an appointment with your plastic surgeon immediately to discuss your concerns.
After Three Weeks
Depending on your healing process, you might still experience minimal swelling and tightness, but overall you will look and feel much better than the previous weeks. Incision sites will begin to clear up and will be much less noticeable. After four to six weeks, you should be able to fully return to day-to-day activities and start exercising again.
At this point, your recovery process should be nearly complete minus some minor residual swelling that can linger. It can take up to a year for all minimal swelling or bruising to subside, but typically these concerns will only be noticeable to you. Your final facelift results will begin to show themselves and you can begin to enjoy life with your refreshed and more youthful look.
The timeline I outlined is different for every patient. Everyone’s recovery process varies and depends on a multitude of factors. The most important part of a successful recovery is to make sure you follow pre- and post-surgery instructions provided by your surgeon. Communicating openly with your surgeon is also beneficial for a smooth recovery process.

With so much information about different plastic surgeons readily available, it can be tempting to feel the need to skip attending an in-person plastic surgery consultation. However, while you may think you know everything you need to know about your chosen physician, your surgeon knows nothing about you. Because of this disparity, I believe that having a plastic surgery consultation is essential for a successful procedure.
Meeting with your surgeon in-person prior to surgery is beneficial because it allows your surgeon to learn more about you and what your desired results and expectations for your procedure are. Additionally, meeting in-person gives you a chance to see how comfortable you are with your surgeon’s approach. It is also much easier to discuss your medical history and develop a plan for your surgery, such as a Band Aid facelift, with your needs in mind.

When it comes to combating facial aging, there are a multitude of treatments that patients consider when deciding what procedure is best for them. Two of the most common treatments I perform for facial aging are facelifts and injectable facial fillers. Most patients believe that they have to pick one or the other, but I highly recommend both of these procedures in conjunction to achieve the most comprehensive results.
While injectable facial fillers and facelifts seem like two very different procedures, I prefer to treat them as complementary to each other. A facelift is a surgical, cosmetic procedure that combats the signs of aging by tightening the skin around the neck and face and giving the facial tissue a more youthful contour. Non-surgical, injectable facial fillers such as Restylane®, work to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by filling in the wrinkles and plumping your skin.
In the video below, I explain exactly how these two treatments work together and what my recommendations are for a more youthful appearance.

It’s very important for prospective plastic surgery patients to maintain realistic, attainable expectations in regards to their respective cosmetic procedure. It’s understandable for every patient to want incredible, life-changing results from their plastic surgery. But one of the keys to long-term happiness and satisfaction from a cosmetic procedure is thoroughly understanding what a specific procedure can and cannot do. With this in mind, I wanted to discuss breast lift surgery to help patients better understand what this popular cosmetic breast procedure is capable of providing.
A breast lift can help women who experience significant breast sagging. Breast sagging can occur as a result of pregnancy and breastfeeding, considerable weight loss, a natural genetic predisposition, or simply a loosening of skin in the breast area over time. During the procedure, I am able to surgically remove loose, excess skin while tightening the remaining skin and breast tissue. The result is perkier, younger-looking breasts.
A breast lift cannot help women reduce the size of their breasts. As opposed to other cosmetic breast procedures, a breast lift is designed to address the positioning of the breasts, not their size. Although the skin removed during a breast lift may result in a modest reduction in breast volume, this is not a result that patients should expect or count on.
A breast lift can be combined with other cosmetic breast procedures. It’s quite common for women to undergo either breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery in conjunction with their breast lift. Doing so can help my patients achieve the comprehensive breast contouring results that they desire while cutting down on the potential surgical costs and recovery time of undergoing these procedures separately.
A breast lift cannot be replaced by performing chest exercises. Although this is a common subject that I am asked about during breast lift consultations, there is unfortunately nothing that working out can do to address breast sagging. While performing chest exercises can help build muscles and reduce fat in the chest, they cannot treat the stretched skin that causes breast sagging to occur.
It’s important to fully understand what a procedure like a breast lift is capable of in order to make the most informed, beneficial plastic surgery decision possible. During pre-surgery consultations, I take the time to address all of my patient’s questions and concerns to make sure they are feeling truly confident and at ease in the lead-up to their surgery.
